Norflette Shumake is a pastor, worshipper, and songwriter whose work brings faith into conversation with everyday life.
As lead pastor of Life Changers International Ministries in Detroit, he teaches the message of Jesus with a heart for people, the church, and the city he serves.
Norflette believes faith should be lived as well as spoken: in prayer, in love for our neighbors, and in the pursuit of justice. Whether preaching, writing, or sharing a reflection online, he invites people to think deeply, love generously, and follow Jesus with courage.
How I See It
I believe the gospel speaks to both the human heart and the public square. For more than thirty years, whether preaching in Detroit or leading worship alongside believers in Europe, Asia, and Latin America, I've tried to hold together what the church too often pulls apart: deep Scripture and real life, personal holiness and public justice, heartfelt worship and hard conversations. I don't offer easy answers. I offer honest, biblically grounded reflection for people who want to follow Jesus faithfully in a divided world.
